Well the quarter is over i have not slept in three days and while most of the class will be going to sleep or enjoying themselves tonight i still have to go to work back at the residents halls tonight and tomorrow. So the sleep will not be coming anytime soon. I pushed myself in this project i did not expect to have the atmosphere in my initial pitch and i have done that, i was going to leave the puddles of water and wetness till the break and thus i also left them off my initial presentation. Joe felt differently he stated that he believed that i could get it done and while i was timid i accepted. I could use some more time but we say that about all projects, it was my first time reading and understanding a pastel and lighting form a 2d image that was hand painted and not based in the real world. In all this quarter has been a challenge and has pushed to a new limit.

Well class 19 was not fun for me i wanted to have most of my files rendered and be in the  composite  but i had many problems getting my files on and off the farm. Joe was also concerned that i was not going to get the project done in time and about the color space that i was working in.

So i have anew beauty there are still issues with it but it has the new timing and i am now working on my composite, so that when i rerender i can just add in the new frames and be done. I also have someone who is supposed to be working on sound form thanks to joe’s help and i need to but up a video. I was in the process of doing so this morning and well my websites sever was down and i had to wait for it to be fixed. It is now back up but the farm dropped about 35 frames so i am waiting for those man what a start to finals week.

This is all carrying over from Thursday were i spent 7 hours rendering layers just to get a test comp.

I hope to have the video up tonight and email the sound designer.

Then get some sleep

Well it 4:45am i have been trying to tweak these lights in my scene all weekend. I was supposed to have lighting that matched the matte painting my problem is that i can render about 3 or 4 time then it crashes im in a bind. I will try optimizing the scene by flattening the textures, other than that im at a loss for tonight. At this point i cant even render out my frames locally anymore let alone get them on the farm. I will talk to my professor in the morning this is rediculus i have become unproductive.

So i have talked to Joe today i have got to light this thing and bring up the values. We talked about the final presentation well he feels that if by Thursday of next week class 18 i can have a completed shot then i should work on adding another camera move. As well for Tuesday’s class i want to have the lighting there. I would really like to be rendering out the entire first shot for Thursday even if i have one fram that is a mach and i just have to render out the last frames of the shot i will be happy. O finals here we go again.

Well I have had some issues with rendering, thus i will be spending a great deal of time this weekend doing some file management with the hope that i will then be able to get the project rendering on the renderfarm. Here is a comparison of the two images i have got to get more light and the right values in the scene that is key to showing control and nailing this project. I have pulled my shot into the histogram and the color range is not quite there i am about half of the original image’s values. This weekend will be a push i need to make significant progress on the project and i have my final for photoreal which i am also excited for and really need to do a great deal of work for.

I have been working on the project all weekend, i have neglected my job and my two other classes and i am still behind and not pleased with the product that is coming out. Maybe i bit of to much because i have been working on this project non stop and still feel like there is so much work to do. Class 15 is tomorrow i will turn in a completed project and move forward. I will take the experience and grow from this project learned a great deal about reading concepts art, time management and just how far i can push. I am just frustrated with my project at this point and im spinning my wheels instead of being productive.

This my block lighting for the project i actually have completely abandoned this set up.
